Who We Are

Shanti – A Brief Introduction

Since the beginning of creation, people have been working for each other. Shanti was founded with the intention of giving the underprivileged, poor and helpless access to education and development growth.

Shanti strives to build a happy society by eliminating various social ills and provides comprehensive cooperation in the government's development programs.

Key milestones that shaped Shanti over the years

2004

The Dream & Initial Struggle

Six passionate youth (Md. Jashim Uddin, Md. Jahangir Alam, Babu Fulkumar Tripura, Md. Belal Uddin, Md. Mannan Uddin, and Md. Eliyas) started their journey in Bhujpur village, Chittagong, standing beside poor farmers, widows, unemployed youth, and minority groups.

2007

Official Establishment

On March 15, 2007, overcoming all initial challenges, Shanti was officially established in Chittagong and its first executive committee was formed to build a happy, prejudice-free society.

2020

Social Welfare Registration

Achieved registration from the Department of Social Services. Expanded efforts to tribal groups, training, healthcare, water-sanitation, anti-drug awareness, and distributing relief.

2021

MRA Approval & Microfinance

Received temporary approval from the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA). Today, operating across 6 sub-districts with 50 staff, helping 6,500 rural members become self-reliant.

2025

NGO Affairs Bureau Registration

On October 27, 2025, achieved the milestone registration from the NGO Affairs Bureau under the Prime Minister's Office, opening doors to global development support.
